"Life is what happens to you
while you're busy making other plans."
John Lennon
(1940-1980)
We define life in many different ways. There are different elements that make up what we call "life". Not everyone has the same outlook, hope, dream, goal, moral, etc. when it comes to their definition of what life means to them.
I was reading one of my college text books, and found a quote from John Lennon that really hit home. He states very simply that "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.". I stopped, leaned back in my chair, and thought about this for a few minutes. Trying to apply this to my own everyday function. I realized how true this in my application of life, and many who I encounter on a regular basis.
Life is constantly happening. While we are working, eating, sleeping, out with friends, cuddling with the kiddos. Whatever it is that you are doing, life is still taking place everywhere around us. This is such an obvious concept, I am sure this is why I have not given it much thought.
I am at a point in my life where so many things are hectic, chaotic, and stressful. I have been practicing more forms of time and stress management, however, I can always use more guidance! =) I think instead of worrying about the future, I need to plan. Accept what current state I am in for what it is and learn from how I ended up here. Tomorrow is in fact a new day, though it is not promised to me.
The important thing for me to do is to make time for my family. Let them know I love them, and appreciate them. We only get one shot at this adventure of life. I chose to accept the challenge, and strive for the best..
