The Imagination of Children

Candid moments are definitely my favorite!

Is it not amazing, the mind of a child? As a mother of four, I am blessed to be able to observe imagination at it's finest!  With an equal balance of boys vs. girls, life is never dull nor boring.

Sitting in a corner pretending to be preoccupied with a book, I observe these four individuals. Nothing entertains me more than listening to what they have to say. From simple mispronounced words, to off the wall made up phrases and scenarios.

Oh, to be a child again. To be in a stage where life does not seem so impossible. To completely absorb information and be able to retain it! The understanding that everything has a starting point, as it has an end. What goes up, must in fact come down.

As a human being our beginning is in the womb, as an infant, a child. Life really begins to develop and take form by the age of three. This has always fascinated me. Three years seems to go by so fast, how is that enough time to ensure our children know all the basics? Crazy enough, it generally is just enough. After three, they begin to gain independence. Ready to learn on their own, discover and create.

I believe these are few of the many reasons I have chosen to follow my dream in becoming a Child Psychologist. This is just the beginning for me, but my end is not coming soon. The journey is long and I am already traveling in the right direction!
